Port Washington, WI, Oct. 7 – Event promotion are easier when your marketing and event publicity includes online calendar sites and niche sites to promote your live or virtual events.

Joan Stewart of http://www.PublicityHound.com, will host a webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, from 3 to 4:10 p.m. Eastern Time, on "50+ Places to Promote Your Live & Virtual Events to Reach Your Target Market & Pull Sell-out Crowds." "Targeting high-traffic websites like Craiglist--as well as smaller niche sites where you can reach people who are passionate about certain topics, issues and causes, or are dying to know how to solve a specific problem-- can help you boost attendance and result in sell-out crowds," Stewart says.

She offers five examples of high-traffic or niche websites that are perfect for event marketing, publicity and promotion. She'll discuss these and more than 40 others during her webinar:

Craigslist – This high-traffic site which has more than 20 billion page views per month offers event planners and promoters a Community category that includes six sub-categories: activities, events, classes, musicians, politics and artists. It also has more than 100 discussion forums devoted to niche topics. Users can post only to the city closest to where they live, and only to only one category or sub-category.

MeetUp – People doing event promotion can use this online social networking portal to draw people to offline events such as book clubs, dog shows, garden walks, health forums or job fairs. Users enter their ZIP code and the topic they want to meet about, and the website helps them arrange a place and time to meet.

ArtistData – More than 25,000 musicians have used the free account to promote more than 4.9 million shows, events and other news across MySpace, Twitter, Facebook and other websites that reach their niche audiences. Upload a music-related calendar listing and it will automatically be posted to more than 25 sites.

Upcoming.Yahoo.com – Special events on this site show up in search engines like Yahoo very quickly, sometimes in a few minutes. Categories include comedy, commercial, education, family, festivals, media, music, performing/visual arts, political and sports.

TeleseminarLive – Authors, speakers, experts and anyone who hosts teleseminars or webinars can post calendar listings to this site.

Stewart also has provided event planners and promoters with a list of 27 questions that will help them generate excellent story ideas and pitches for the media when seeking event publicity. You can find her event marketing ideas here

The webinar will be recorded and sold afterward as a video, with accompanying handouts.
